Couldn't say it better myself!

Tonight right before bed Emma announced that she had something really important to write.  Who could say no to writing about something important??   After a quick moment at the table she brought me this pink paper with the letters FAKS and said "Read it".  Hmmmmm, this is always a touchy area, we're encouraging Emma to "write like a 5 year old, it doesn't have to be spelled like a grown up" but when she wants us to read her writing it poses a bit of a problem.  I started to sound it out and she said "Fix mom, it says fix".   I asked her what needs fixing, thinking it was one of her poor abused dolls.  She responded "the hole, I want them to fix the hole on the lot and make it a house".  Oh Emma, me too!
A quick update-
-after some back and forth with MSD this week things are looking up.  They are in the process (UGHHH) of issuing a permit.
-The permit delay with MSD  has delayed the plumbing that needs to be done on the lot before our builder wants to begin the foundation.  However our builder told us the plumber is going to start on November 3rd (only 2 months after the date we originally hoped to start).

Wishful thinking.....

That is our lot with the MOUNTAIN of dirt piled on it and the bulldozer just ready to work. The dirt and the machinery belong to our neighbors, they dug their foundation last week--YEA for them. We however are stilllllllllllll waiting!! Our builder is hopeful that we will hear back from MSD early this week and by the end of the week we will have something visible (other than a pile of dirt that doesn't even belong to us) happening.

MIZ-ZOU

The girls were dressed in their Mizzou outfits but that didn't help Ol' Mizzou pull through!

R House

Here is the spot that hopefully will be a big hole in a week or two!  Our neighbors have already brought in a couple of big loads of dirt to fill in the back of the lot.  The girls had fun digging in the dirt.  Now if we can just get some real digging happening we'll be in buiseness.

Fun at the Kirkwood Farmer's Market!

This has nothing to do with the house, I'm just excited to be learning how to publish a post!  We went to the Kirkwood Farmer's Market today to play and pick out some pumpkins for baking.  We went a couple of weeks ago for the same reasons.  However, the girls became very attached to their pumpkins and were not about to let me bake them!  We had a great time on this beautiful fall day!

Emma and Ellie go to the lot for the first time!

In mid May we took the girls to see the lot while it was still empty.  HA HA HA, like we had to rush over there!! They did love it though!  Emma was really into Little House on the Prarie at the time and pretended to pick rocks and flowers "off the land" like Laura.  Although the picture seems to say different, we did feed Ellie that day.
