Christmas Day 2010

After a rather rough Christmas Eve evening, slamming doors, refusal to eat dinner,  melodramatic crying, icky behavior (no, it wasn't Kevin OR me) I was wondering if the Christmas spirit would be alive and well come Christmas morning.

Maybe it was the gift of snow that brought the Christmas Spirit back.
Emma and Ellie spent  hours outside playing in the snow.  Isn't that one good looking snowman?!

New crayons and notebooks were a hit too, making the rug in front of the fireplace a favorite spot all day long.

A friend stopping by to read a good book was well appreciated!

Need a good laugh?  Try playing Apples to Apples ---so much fun.  Sure to be a favorite winter game!

Lucy was thrilled with her first Christmas.  Here she is cracking up over Five Little Monkeys.  It is a pretty good book, especially when Ellie is doing a puppet show!

Merry Christmas!

...the children were nestled all snug in their beds

Except that it is 7:45 and these children have to go to school!

Just one more day and then these sleepy heads can sleep their hearts out.  Though, they'll probably be wide eyed tomorrow morning at 6:00!

4 months

Stats-
Weight- 14 pounds 7 ounces
Length- 25 inches
Dimples- 1
Eyes- Blue
Tricks- the best gummy smile you've ever seen, belly laughs, rolling, pulling her hat and bows over her eyes.

Lucy turned 4 months on Thursday.  She's chatty, giggly and happy.  Emma and Ellie are so good with her, always by her side and in her face!
Lucy has been a very good sleeper until the last couple of weeks.  We've been traveling, she's rolling, turning 4 months, maybe teething?  We had all kinds of reasons for the crying when we put her down and the waking every hour and a half.   I took her for her 4 month check up on Friday and we found out this beautiful baby has two "monster" (our awesome pediatrician's word!) ear infections.  She's on amoxicillin and  tylenol and sleeping just fine again.  Poor baby girl!

Rollin'

Tonight as we sat on the floor going through Christmas ornaments Lucy rolled over for the first time!  She was very impressed with herself!  What fun for all of us to see her first big move.

Memphis 2010

Chalk this up as another successful travel weekend!  Memphis was beautiful, with weather in the 50s.  Kevin, Gordon and Mom all ran a great race, with Kevin achieving a PR.  The cheering squad---which included Jim, Jackie, the girls and me---scurried around and were able to catch Gram finishing her race...looking very strong!  I'm already looking forward to running next year!
