Caterpillars!

Today when I picked Ellie up from school she grabbed me by the hand, ran me up the hill, climbed the tree (just her, not me) and showed me these caterpillars. Aren't they cute?!

Cause for Celebration!

We have a tree in our yard! Just one but you've got to start somewhere in a tree barren yard. The city planted trees yesterday all along our street and it's lovely. What fun it will be to take the a picture every year in front of that tree to measure the growth, not just of that little tree but of our little girls. Of course after cheering for the tree we did what any reasonable people would do and we celebrated with a trip to Mr. Wizard's!

Only the good parts...

Emma made dinner tonight. Sort of. A few weeks ago she started developing a recipe for chicken soup. Tonight we made the soup. YUM!! This kid might have a future as a chef. Ellie said, "I'm only eating the good parts".

Looks like we all approve of Emma's chicken soup recipe.

Sunday Projects

The girls had a plan for the day-
1. church
2. dyeing eggs
3. baking cupcakes
I was game but had another project in mind as well. The "art area", which is also Kevin's office, has gotten OUT of control lately. Last night I decided it was time to figure something out and determined that a larger bookcase to store all of the art supplies was in order. This morning after church we headed to Wal-Mart and purchased a cheap, both in price and craftsmanship, bookcase. What a find!!! It now houses all of the many art goodies in a fairly neat and orderly fashion and since it's behind a door who cares what it looks like!

Spring Break in Sanibel

We spent a wonderful week on Sanibel Island. We spent our days on the beach, bike riding, reading, eating ice cream (some of us--ok ME--ate it every single day--sometimes twice a day :) ---we did ride our bikes to the ice cream shop though!!), laughing and enjoying some uninterrupted time together.
